Mark Howls, recognized for his captivating soundscapes and intricate compositions, seamlessly blends vibrant rhythms with deep grooves, creating an enchanting musical journey. From his early days studying piano to his ventures into electronic composition, Mark’s passion for music has only grown stronger over time.
In addition to founding the band Jive Me and the label Distor Records, Mark, also known as Toutant, has established himself as a prolific artist in the realm of minimal techno. With twelve EPs released in just five years, his musical evolution took a significant turn with the release of “Mystic” in collaboration with Swann Decamme in 2016. This marked a shift towards melodic and deep house, setting the stage for his promising future, exemplified by the release of “Elyxium” in 2019.
In the studio, Mark utilizes a diverse array of acoustic instruments, synthesizers, and percussions to craft his distinctive sound. His music has found a home on esteemed labels such as Earthly Delight, Magician on Duty, Dawn Till Dusk, and Curiosity Music.
