Three main room cuts aimed squarely at the dancefloor…
Coming in strong with a three-track EP, we welcome the Balance Music debuts of Chicago veteran Nick Stoynoff and the rapidly rising Aubrey Fry. On their own, they boast impressive solo discographies, and on this fantastic EP, their combined efforts yield dazzling results.

The studio sheen on ‘Baller’ shines so brightly it feels expensive. The kick, beautifully accentuated by a chugging bass that draws you in, is a solid slice of engineering—hitting with the strength of tempered steel. The drums feel fresh, adorned with exquisite effects, while pieces of snapped samples drift in like a broken transmission from outer space. This is proper cerebral prog wrapped in big-room appeal.
An immersive energy permeates ‘Cloud Like Dreams’. The main feature is a deep, crackling bass fizzling like an exposed electrical cord. In this kinetic soup, cosmic synths swim, their radiant melodies complementing the massive main-room engine. Once the breakdown appears, a sample enquires, “Are you attracted to me?”—and yes… this dancefloor magnetism is undeniable. This is a slow-building force that keeps ascending, a nuclear reactor on the verge of erupting.

The deeper cut, ‘St John’, comes out of the gates with a clear emotional valence. A plucked instrument playfully punctuates a synth so dense you could skate on it. The gentleness of the minor melodies injects drama into the soft, deep-tech drums, all wrapped in mesmerizing subtle dynamics that skillfully draw you in. This is one for the early morning hours—when the night prepares to welcome the day and the dancefloor calls for reflection.
