Christian Nielsen, a Danish DJ and producer from Copenhagen, is known for a blend of melodic techno and house that is infused with Scandinavian minimalism. Launching his career in the early 2010s, he plays an energetic sound characterized by deep basslines, soaring melodies, and intricate rhythms, leading to releases on prestigious labels like Diynamic, Ellum, and Kompakt. Beyond the studio, Nielsen has made his mark performing at iconic venues such as Watergate, Fabric, Printworks, and Pacha for Solomun +1.

I grew up with a lot of different music styles and influences. My parents listened mostly to Motown, disco, soul and jazz. Later on my brother introduced me to heavy metal, grunge and loads of hip hop.
I didn’t know anything about house music until my early 20’s, but I remember listening to Basement Jaxx and Chemical Brothers on the radio. However, I never called it a genre.
I remember listening to a Danish electronic artist called Bjørn Svin (Bear Pig) on national radio. Again, I didn’t think of it as “electronic” music. It was just music made from weird sounds. But I did ended up buying the whole album and that was back in 97’
I had been to normal clubs before where they played pop music, but never gave the DJ any attention at all. It wasn’t on my radar at all. By chance someone brought me to Culture Box in Copenhagen where Matthias Tanzman was playing, and I was sold!
The whole concept of an underground house club was so new to me. The vibe, people, setting… it was almost to much to handle.
There are musicians and producers who inspire me based on the way the produce or create music. Artists like Quincy Jones, Pharrell, Timberland, John Williams, Hans Zimmer all inspire me, but not musically.
Electronic artists who I really enjoy listening too and inspire me are artists such as: Fred Lenix, GENESI, Max Styler, Baime.
And labels inspire me too. Labels like Pets Recordings are just so good at A&Ring music its crazy. You can look at their back catalog and you’ll find shit from years ago that sounds so fresh and new!

So LOTS of new music right around the corner.
My next gig will at this years ADE the 18th October where I will be b2b with Andrew Meller at W Amsterdam.
It’s a mix with loads of my new tracks and tracks from other producers that I really dig at the moment.
My track ‘Family‘ is still killing it at every set and is still getting played all around the world.
Just because it’s a banger and sounds dope on all systems and headphones.
