An uncompromising passion for a contemporary, cutting-edge sound is what Cid Inc brings to electronic music. Swedish producer Henri Hurtig began his journey into music production in the early 1990s.
Based in his home of Sweden, and soon after relocating to Finland, Cid Inc has always had an affinity for cutting edge electronics. It’s an enthusiasm that ultimately led him to electronic dance music – and more specifically, house and techno. Henri always aimed for an innovative approach to his studio work and it was that very trait that led to the birth of Mashtronic in 2004. But, it was the formation of Cid Inc in 2008 which really saw his career go into overdrive, a moniker which has seen him release on the world’s best labels, which includes Anjunadeep, Lost & Found, microCastle, Natura Sonoris, and Sudbeat. Not only is his production skill respected, but, his skills as a mastering engineer is sought after by some of the most widely regarded producers, such as Christian Smith, Pig&Dan, Guy J, and Hernan Cattaneo.
In 2018 the producer had several Beatport charts success which saw him play worldwide, and in April it will be Australia’s turn for another visit when he returns exclusively for the highly anticipated Enchanted Gardens Party in Melbourne alongside D-Nox, Einmusik, and past Balance Selections compiler, Quivver.
Featuring tracks from Wehbba, Eagles & Butterflies, Sasha & Kolsch, you know Cid Inc’s Balance Selections mix will be essential listening…

My last 3 releases:
What music did you listen too as a child?
Our parents didn’t listen to that much music then, it was mainly music from radio as I recall it. I started to listen to music more seriously when I was around 9-10 years old.
When was the first time that you realized that you liked electronic music?
It was some time between mid to end of 80s when I heard Jean Michael Jarre, Vangelis and all those pioneering synth musicians. Also, I used to have a Commodore 64 computer back then. I loved the music in the games, especially from Rob hubbard, Chris Hülsbeck & Martin Galway to name a few.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
I grew up in north of Sweden and there were no clubs at all, only local discos and such. But I remember hearing a dj first time at a school party as a kid, it was quite fascinating and I even went over to him to see what he actually did, he played tracks from two cassette decks =)
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
Very hard to name any specific ones as there’s so many. I pretty much listen to music constantly (except when sleeping, eating, hangin around with my fiance and dogs or hammering PS4 =)) and get ideas & influences from many different artists all the time.
What was the last album that you downloaded/bought?
Been ages ago I bought an album, it’s been all about Spotify and other streaming platforms for me for a long time. The last album I actually fully listened to was C-jay’s electronica/ambient album that was release on my Replug Records a few months ago.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
For production I use Ableton live running digital & analog hybrid setup. For DJ’ing it’s Traktor or CDJs.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
Via Karelia EP got release just recently. As mentioned, I’ve been working a lot in the studio and still need to decide what to do with all the tracks. I have a collab/s coming with my label partner Orsen (Dan Baseley) and a lot of other exciting projects.
Where can we hear you perform?
I’ve had a few weeks of from touring dedicated for studio time. Next one will be in Russia Moscow & St. Petersburg, in mid-April. This is going to be a special one as it’s part of Replug Records 10 year anniversary tour featuring me, Dmitry Molosh, Anton Make and Stas Drive.
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
A bunch of tracks I really like at the moment also including a lot of my new productions.
