Armen Miran’s love and passion for electronic music genres started at a very young age; spending the majority of his time in the underground music scene.
In 2006, Armen began his journey producing electronic ambient and dub techno sounds. He was booked for his very first gig at Armenia’s well-known club called Calumet, where he left the crowd speechless with his Ambient and Deep House tunes.
A few years ago Armen Miran announced his new label Hoomidaas Records, and in the short amount of time since the inception of the label, it has not only boldly entered the industry, but has done so with such promise, that we cannot wait to see what their future holds, and also that of the talented Armen Miran who delivers a deep and mystical mix for Balance Selections.

What music did you listen to as a child?
My brother was a drummer and my dad was a DJ in his early years. I grew up listening to Armenian Folk and Rock and Roll music at home.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
When I turned 13 years old, I moved to Armenia and I would frequent the pubs/clubs a lot which played electronic music.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
In 2003, I went to a club in Yerevan called Monte Carlo and the DJs playing were The Chemical Brothers.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
My favourite musician is Klaus Schulze. If you know him, then you don’t need an introduction or explanation. If you don’t know who he is, be prepared to take a long journey that will change your entire being and your life.
What was the last album that you downloaded/bought?
Peter Baumann’s Romance ’76 Vinyl
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
I use hardware and software. My productions come to life on Abelton. I have many favorite synthesizers, but I recently fell in love with the Prophet Rave. My set up in my studio – 2 CDJs, Zone Mixer and a vinyl player. My every morning ritual is to play a vinyl from my collection, that’s how I start my mornings.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
I have a remix coming up on XYZ label which is a collaborative label curated by When We Dip and a single track on Hoomidaas Records Winter Compilation out in December. I’ve been working on a few projects with Felix Rafael and Hraach.
Where can we hear you perform?
Last night I played my last U.S. gig in New York for Zero and I’m now on my way to Europe to kick off my summer tour until the end of September.
