Vlady Romanenko, otherwise known as Nōpi, has firmly cemented himself as an artist to watch with his dreamy melodies and quality production.
His years of hard work and experimentation have made him one of Ukraine’s youngest musical exports. Whilst creating and perfecting his atmospheric signature sound, his talents haven’t gone unnoticed gaining him his well-deserved releases on respected imprints like All Day I Dream, Akbal Music, Do Not Sit, and even the celebrated Anjunadeep.
He has been relentlessly expanding his personal library and is sitting on a Prydz-esque catalogue of tracks, which will be strategically released over the coming years to pay homage to the labels and artists that have helped him shape the producer that he is today.

When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
The first one I heard was Daft Punk- Robot Rock, after them I fell in love with electronic music, since childhood, then I listened to Chemical Brothers, they also gave me some understanding of this genre.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
The first time I went to a party was when I was 18 years old. I was invited by complete strangers, I went there for the sake of curiosity and experienced unforgettable feelings, which, probably, inspired me to continue doing this. It was in my city Kharkov in Ukraine.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
This is a difficult question, because I am very picky, I am not inspired by the performers themselves, in general, good music, probably now there is not so much of it after the Coronavirus, as I noticed it, it began to deteriorate. But, I have always focused on music, not artists.
What was the last track or album that you downloaded/bought?
Due to the situation in my country, to be honest, I’m a little not up to it now, but the album that I liked a lot is Maceo Plex – Life Index.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
For now I have a couple of synths which I dreamed of for a very long time (Prophet 12, Prophet 06, and Virus Ti 2), and I have one drum machine Elektron analog Rytm.
About the DJ setup, I don’t have one at the moment, but in the future I think will buy this 🙂
What releases do you have on the horizon?
Upcoming release I hope it will be in winter, Anjunadeep and one good collaboration with 2 beautiful artists, but this is secret 🙂
Where can we hear you perform?
Soon one gig in Kiev, but in general I don’t have many gigs because of the war in my country 🙁
