What music did you listen to as a child?
My first musical memories go back to my childhood, the music that played at home, my parents listened to the Fania All Stars, Santana, and Pink Floyd, among others, so I had the great fortune to grow up with these sounds.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
When I heard trance for the first time, between 1997 and 1998, I was very interested in the avant-garde sound of this genre and when a friend told me that this music was made by a producer, I was very interested since I thought it was music that was made like a band or orchestra.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
In Guacari, the town where I grew up, I heard a DJ play vinyl live for the first time, my great friend Mauro Aguirre at a party he had at his house.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
Pink Floyd was definitely the band that for the first time transported me to a totally new musical dimension for me, then in the world of electronic music Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J are my main references.
What was the last album that you downloaded/purchased?
The latest mixtape from the Lost and Found label We Are Lost, and the All Day I Dream ‘Winter‘ compilation on double vinyl.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
Both as a DJ and as a producer my configuration is very simple, in my studio I have two MIDI controllers, a PC, two sound monitors, and an Apollo Twin card and when playing with 3 x CDJ3000 unit and an Allen & Heath Xone 92 mixer.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
I am very happy because it has been a very productive year, to highlight 3 appearances on Global Underground, one on Danny Tenaglia‘s new album ‘Brooklyn’, another one on the new compilation album called ‘Unique‘ and finally an EP with the Colombian producer Dabeat.
Where can we hear you perform?
At this moment I am in the middle of my world tour, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and Latin America are part of this magnificent journey.
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
I will do the podcast in the setup mentioned above, 3 x Pioneer CDJ3000 units and and an Allen & Heat mixer. A lot of the music is Colombian with some of the best talent of my country. I will include my most recent remix and some unreleased tracks from the artists featured in this selection.
