DJ, producer, and label owner, Polish born VONDA7 is a true musical explorer – not afraid to take risks, where she has built a glowing reputation based on bold moves and crossing over genres.
VONDA7 grew up on hip-hop and R’n’B, soon discovering French house and techno. During time spent in the UK she soaked up garage and Caribbean sounds, and later dived head-first into disco in Amsterdam. She draws on all that when turning out multifaceted tracks, from Euphoric techno bangers, high tempo disco reworks, to heartbroken and acid-laced downtempo pop – she’s done it all.
An astute ear for melody, a firm grip on drum programming, and an experimental approach to vocals became her trademark skills gaining interest from the very top DJs, to radio presenters and media outlets.
Hard-working, multifaceted, and captivating, VONDA7 career remains firmly on the ascent.

What music did you listen to as a child?
My dad went to the music school so he was feeding me music from a very young age. It was anything from 60s / 70s rock to jazz all the way to trance/Eurodance. I was always a very curious person, I listened to mainstream pop as a child but soon went to discover hip-hop, indie rock and then I moved onto electronic music which has become an everlasting love. I started collecting records at 15 years old, I was really into Daft Punk but then discovered deep house like Matthew Herbert, Jazzanova, all that cool stuff that was happening at that time in Berlin and London.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
At 14-15 years old. I had a crush on this skater boy and my friends told me he goes to that bar in the city. I had to convince my older sister to go with me so I could stay out a bit longer, as they were only opening at 9pm. There I first heard the music that I never heard before, I saw vinyl records, the DJ… I ended up chatting to the DJ who became my good friend, forgot about the skater boy and found my true love – music.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
There’s lots of amazing talent out there… from the current favourites Joris Voorn, Eelke Kleijn, Tommy Farrow, Henri Bergmann, Korolova, and Cristoph just to name a few. My first inspiration came from people like Guy Gerber, Sven Väth, Matthew Herbert, Röyksopp, and so many more. These days I really like a modern take on trance and appreciate what labels like Armada, Anjunadeep, and Rose Avenue release, as well as stuff that falls under Melodic House & Techno umbrella. I have always connected most with songs that have some songwriting to them and are more than just club tools.
What was the last album that you downloaded/purchased?
One that I really listened to many times on repeat was Tame Impala – The Slow Rush.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
I have moved almost completely into ´the box´ and let go of most of my hardware. I still have my Prophet 6 and Roland TB-3 but I want to be able to travel around with my laptop and produce from anywhere. These days all the plugins out there are on the level where you can produce a top quality record only using your computer and mix on very good headphones, I used Slate Audio VSX.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
There are a few in the process but I don’t like to talk about things before they are released.
Where can we hear you perform?
I am playing in Istanbul, and in Phoenix Klein soon, then I will be performing in Berlin, and in Valencia, early next year I will go on a tour of Asia.
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
I wanted the mix to be as close to my DJ set as possible so I recorded it live at home while dancing. I included some tracks from my label and other ones from producers that I appreciate, and music that moves me.
