What music did you listen to as a child?
My earliest memories of music are closely tied to my family, I remember listening to classic bands like the Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, and Rolling Stones from records that my parents had at home, as well we listened to some bands from my country such as Soda Stereo, Virus, Charly Garcia, Abuelos de la Nada, etc.
In my adolescence I used to listen to rock bands like Ramones, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers. In the 2000s, nu metal was making a big impact, and during those times, I used to listen to Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Linkin Park. After my teenage years, another exploration began, and I started listening to music created with machines like samples, synthesizers, drum machines, bands such as such as Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, New Order, Depeche Mode, LCD Soundsystem. Up to this day, I continue to search for new bands, new styles, and new sounds to listen to. I am very passionate about music
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
It came naturally as I always listened to a lot of music but I remember when I was Sixteen or so when my eldest brother introduced me to an album that completely changed my perspective on music.
We were at home and he played ‘Airdrawndagger‘ from Sasha. That album opened up a whole new universe of sound for me. I started delving more deeper into electronic music, exploring different sub-genres, buying records, listening to local DJs etc., it became a significant part of my life, influencing not only my musical taste but also my passion for the art of sound.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
My first nightclub experience was Pacha with Nick Warren and my first festival was Creamfields Buenos Aires in my hometown, where I had the fortune of being able to see Groove Armada, Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish, James Zabiela, Jimmy Van M, Lexicon Avenue, Steve Lawler, Hernan Cattaneo among others. Two unforgettable moments in my life.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
I’ve been fortunate to have been inspired by a wide range of producer, artist and acts through my musical journey. It’s always a challenge to pick favorites because there are so many talented individuals who have left a lasting impact on me.
But I must say that both Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J are my all-time favorites. Their way of playing live, the musical selection, and everything they transmit to the audience make them unique and serve as a source of inspiration for the new generations of music producers worldwide.
What was the last album that you downloaded/purchased?
My latest acquisition was Foo Fighters latest album called ‘But Here We Are‘. I’m a big fan of Dave Grohl‘s band, and it’s the only one I still buy physical albums for. Everything else, I purchase through various streaming platforms.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
As I’m constantily moving to different countries and citties my set up becomes lightweight for travel.
I do have a Macbook Pro 2019, M-Audio Air Series soundcard, an AKAI MPK mini plus keyboard, Allen & Heath K2 midi controller, Audio-technica M50x headphones.
I’m on Ableton live for music production, my favorites plugins for mixing are Waves, Fabfilter, Izotope and when producing I use mainly VST’s such as Omnisphere, Trillian, Roland Juno 60, Dune 3 and Diva.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
My EP with Eichenbaum, released in August by Balance, has been the latest for this year. Soon, a new unofficial remix from a very popular band of the 80s will see the light. I’m working on redefining my sound; for now, it will shift to something more progressive.
Where can we hear you perform?
You can cacth me on January 20th at Culture Box in Copenhagen for the ‘What Happens‘ event, alongside Guy J and Tim Andressen.
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
For this mix, I used tracks from my folders, many of which I’ve used in live sets and received an excellent response on the dance floor. I went to the studio of my friend DJ and producer Gfeity here on the wonderful island of Mallorca. I used a Pioneer CDJ 3000 setup, DJM A9 mixer, and LD Systems speakers. Most of them are tracks from producers whom I truly admire for the quality of music they have been releasing in recent years
My Recommendations
The top track in my DJ set currently is:
Analog Jungs – Futura (Dowden Remix)
If I could recommend only one of my tracks for you to listen to it would be:
I would definitely recommend my track ‘Nomade‘. It’s a track produced during one of my many journeys around the world in the last 7 years, and from which the inspiration to create it arose.
If I could recommend only one track for you to listen to it would be:
Soda Stereo – Genesis (MTV Unplugged)
The last movie I watched that I really liked:
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
My favourite TV show:
Friends
My favourite holiday destination/hotel:
This is a tough one because I’ve travelled a lot in the last 7 years, but definitely, a few days in Airlie Beach in Australia in a camper van.
