A big 80-minute mix from Colombian producer Juan Pablo Torrez…
Recently, we released a highly accomplished 4-track EP from Kamilo Sanclemente collaborating with his fellow Colombian producers. One of these collaborators is producer/DJ Juan Pablo Torrez, a well-known name in his native Colombia.
One of these collaborators is producer/DJ Juan Pablo Torrez, a well-known name in his native Medellin. He is a radio host, producer, and label owner of Clubsonica, which was named “Best Record Label” in 2023 at the Colombian Dance Awards. With over a decade’s worth of production experience, his hard work is starting to pay off globally. In 2021, his track ‘Leda’ was selected by Nick Warren as his favorite track of that year. And with major support from progressive DJs and beyond, it’s clear that Torrez is a name to invest in.
Across an impressive 80 minutes the Colombian producer delivers an intricate progressive house mix that sparkles with an emotive energy and main room appeal.
Featuring a special intro exclusively produced for this mix, Torrez pays homage to his peers with a tracklist featuring Kamilo Sanclemente, Sebastian Valencia, Gux Jimenez and more.

My first memories as a child were made in my parents’ house. At that time, they were really into Salsa music and all things Tropical. My parents’ house always had music playing somewhere.
The first time I listened to electronic music was when my sister played a Trance Factory CD when I was a child. I really liked it, but I didn’t pay much attention to it until I saw a Tiesto In Concert DVD. Seeing that concert made me tick and sparked my desire to learn more about the electronic music scene and become a DJ.
My first clubbing experience was in Cali at a club called Vertigo. The DJ playing was Alexa, a pioneering female DJ from Colombia. She was spinning techno on vinyl, and the party was incredible.
My favorite artists right now are Hernan Cattaneo, Who Made Who, Rufus Du Sol, Nick Warren, Rodriguez Jr, among others. The one I have been following the longest is Hernan Cattaneo. He’s a role model in both my personal and professional life. I always enjoy seeing him play music; I love the way he commands the party, taking the crowd through different emotional states.
I’m a big follower of Hernan Cattaneo, so I have started collecting some of the works he has done. One of my favorites is Balance Presents Sunsetstrip, which I really enjoyed.
My studio setup contains a mix of hardware and software:
MacBook Pro
Ableton Live as my main DAW
Universal Audio Apollo x8
2x Adam Audio F7
2x Adam Audio T8V
Ableton Push 2
Korg Minilogue XD
Hologram Microcosm
U-he VST
Xfer Serum VST
I have DJed with vinyl, but currently, I DJ with USBs to have a more standard setup. Using USBs is more practical for traveling without carrying too much weight.
A couple of releases via my label, Clubsonica, are on the way and are already being supported by some heavyweights in the industry. I also have a few collaborations with fellow Colombian producers that will be released between this year and the first semester of next year.
I have a residency at Viuz Club, located in Medellin, Colombia. I also host two monthly podcasts: Clubsonica Radio, which is broadcast on Proton and published on SoundCloud and YouTube, and Progressions, which is broadcast on Frisky Radio.
I recorded the podcast with CDJs. The idea of this mix is to showcase music from fellow Colombian artists, tracks that were and will be released via my label Clubsonica, as well as some of my own productions that will be coming out soon.
The last one that blew my mind was Everything Everywhere All at Once
Oh, there’s so many! I would say The Big Bang Theory.
For winter, Bariloche, Argentina is the place to go. For summer, the Caribbean is my go-to spot to relax.
