Hailing from Buenos Aires, Emiliano Folgar is no stranger to the Balance Music roster.
Under the Interaxxis moniker with Martin Kazez, he collaborated with Mariano Mellino for a deep prog workout that stood out as one of our best 2020 releases. He now debuts under his solo moniker with four incredible tracks showcasing a producer with a lot more to offer.
There is a hypnotic quality to the bassline’s see-saw action on ‘Last Hope‘, while the deep vocal of Diego L. Art acts as a highly soothing tonic. Accentuated by a very moving melody and striking string FX, this is music for dancefloors with depth.
Like a performance by a full three-piece band, the rhythm and bass on ‘Lost In Time‘ feel organic, and the melodic synth glides elegantly with the bass until it dissolves into Juan Hansen‘s inspiring vocals with an 80’s feel.
On the dub mix of ‘Last Hope‘, the warm drum programming should win you over in the first few seconds. But that is only the beginning, and once the euphoria of that gorgeous melody arrives, resisting FOLGAR’s engineering is futile.
There is a lot of movement on Lost In Time (Main Dub): the confident driving bass, the sparkle of an uplifting arpeggiator and the elastic nature of a shiny synth stretched to breaking point. With so many layers, there is more than just time to lose yourself in.
