Following on from her critically acclaimed album “Comfort,” Maya Jane Coles has been enlisted to mix fabric 75. A mix of raw techno and deep house, the compilation puts her another step forward in her already successful career.
At 26 years-old, the British-Japanese producer/DJ has already been included in Rolling Stone’s top 25 most influential DJs on the planet, with DJ sets for Boiler Room and guest mixes for XLR8R’s podcast series and Radio 1’s Essential Mixes.
The compilation starts with cymbal and snare sounds from Trus’me’s ‘Somebody,’ followed by the minimalistic techno sounds of Dixon’s remix of ‘Level 7.’ MJC throws in her unreleased track ‘Premonition,’ showing off her matured synth lines and minimal aesthetic, while leaving the heavier garage house till last, with tracks like Chesus’ ‘Monster.’
The simplicity and raw house sounds of fabric 75, illustrates MJC’s knowledge and insight into the electronic music world. A balanced combination of rhythmic beats, heavy bass and percussion, she guides the listener through a journey like the musical storyteller she is.
