George X: A Balance Selections Through Deep Progressive…
At the start of 2025, we released the epic three-track EP from George X, Sunday’s Memory—a deep, main-room progressive journey that solidified his evolving sound. George’s music—both introspective and expansive—traces a path from his small-town roots in Xanthi to collaborations with the likes of Roy Rosenfeld and Behrouz. Subtle yet emotionally rich, his tracks have caught the ears of global tastemakers, earning support from John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and many more.
On this Balance Selections mix, the Greek producer proves he’s just as skilled behind the decks as he is in the studio. Featuring tracks from Volen Sentir, Hermanez, and a healthy dose of his own productions, this is 60 minutes of high-grade progressive dance music.

One of my earliest childhood musical memories must have been disco music. It still reminds me of family gatherings and good times. The beat, the groove, the vocals—everything just made sense to me. My father was an avid vinyl collector, so the whole preparation felt like a precious kind of ritual to me.
The first bell rang with Michael Jackson, but the deal was sealed with Experience by The Prodigy.
My first time actually noticing and observing a DJ on the decks was abut 20 years ago. I still remember it to this day!
There are so many of them that I’ve “collected” over the years, and each one holds a special place in my heart. One of the first was a CD series called Global Underground. That’s where I first discovered artists like John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Lee Burridge, Deep Dish, and many others. Beyond the artists themselves, I find inspiration in everyday life—in its beauty, as well as its struggles.
My latest purchase is Journey Within, an album by Pig&Dan.
Right now, I’m working with a set of Focal speakers, a UAD soundcard, and a pair of Beyerdynamic headphones. I mostly use software—Ableton feels like second nature to me.
For synths, I use Prophet by Arturia, and when DJing, I take advantage of all available options. However, I tend to steer clear of laptops when possible.
I find that vinyl and CDs keep me sharp and creative, whereas the convenience of a laptop can make things feel a bit too easy—and, frankly, uninspiring.
I have an upcoming release on Forestrip, another one on Saisons, and a remix coming out on Mango Alley. There are a few more in the pipeline, but I can’t share details just yet.
Right now, I’m based in Greece, but I’m hoping to take my sets abroad in the near future. I have a residency in my hometown, Xanthi. This summer is free of gigs, as I’ve decided to take some time for myself and focus on studio updates that require my full attention.
I made it on my PC. When it comes to the tracks, I see myself as a storyteller. I love every part of the journey, if you know what I mean.
Each set has a unique vibe, so they naturally tend to differ.
‘An Analog Guy in a Digital World’, by Martin Roth. Weirdest and most exciting track.
“His House”, by Remi Weeks.
Pretty much anything comical. Honorary three: Brooklyn 99, FRIENDS, The Office.
Xino Nero, Florina, Greece.
