Kostya Outta delivers a lush 60-minute mix proving why he’s one of Poland’s best…
Kostya Outta, originally from Belarus and now based in Poland, has been plying his trade in progressive house for over a decade. His groovy melodic sound, first established with tracks like ‘High Flyers‘ and ‘Silence‘, set the stage for his rise, earning him future support from top-tier DJs like Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Warren. To date, two of his releases cracked the Top 10 of Beatport’s Progressive House chart, with one landing at #4 (‘Falcon’), eventually going on become one of the platform’s Best Sellers of 2022.
Known for his dynamic performances, Kostya has played at major festivals across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, sharing stages with artists like Sander van Doorn and Aly & Fila. With a unique sound he describes as “outta space,” Kostya continues to impress with a dependable sound that is hard to deny.
On this Balance Selections mix he showcases that trained ear for highly contagious melodies and super tight programming. Featuring tracks and remixes from Dmitry Molosh, Digital Mess, Fuenka and a generous selection of Kostya’s own productions, this is a top notch progressive outing from one of Poland’s best

My earliest memories of music come from my childhood, listening to my mom play the piano. It was so beautiful—I didn’t even know what she was playing, probably just improvising, but every time she sat down at the piano, I was captivated.
Even later, when I started learning to play the piano myself, I continued to marvel at her music. Being in music school also brought a lot of classical music into my life. Sometimes, I would listen to Bach on vinyl, turning up the volume so my neighbors could enjoy it too.
Later, I explored many different music genres, getting to know styles like rap, hardcore, rock, metal, and various types of electronic music such as trip-hop, experimental, IDM, and drum and bass.
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when it started, as it was a gradual process of discovery. I didn’t distinguish between electronic and non-electronic music until I attended my first electronic music festival.
It happened at the Kazantip festival in Crimea back in 2007. I was 16, and by a happy coincidence, my parents and I were on vacation just 5 km from the festival. I still don’t understand how they allowed me to go, given how strict they were about my upbringing.
But that event had a huge impact on my musical taste—and on my life as a whole. I remember a massive main stage with Estonian DJ Cosmonaut playing Progressive Breaks to thousands of people.
My current list of favorite artists includes Dmitry Molosh, Alex O’Rion, Mike Griego, Marsh, Durante, Dosem, Simon Doty, and Kasper Koman. I’ve loved their signature sounds for a long time, and they’ve never disappointed me.
Back in 2016, when I was primarily producing Deep House, Dmitry’s single “Fly,” released on Sudbeat, became my introduction to Progressive House and significantly shaped my current taste in the genre.
Over the past year, Alex O’Rion’s Nostalgia has made the biggest impression on me. I’ve listened to the entire album countless times, and there isn’t a single track I’d want to skip. It’s an absolutely amazing collection, released at just the right time.
My production setup is as simple as it gets: I use Ableton Live 10 (still my favorite), two Yamaha HS5 monitors, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, and my Technics 1200 DJ headphones. The main thing is that everything is set up in the right space, so I can clearly hear everything I need. My favorite VSTs include synths like Hive, Diva, and Massive.
For my DJ setup, I prefer three CDJ-3000s, especially for their excellent 64-bar Beat Jump feature, which helps me keep the energy high by mixing a variety of tracks. I also use the DJM-A9 mixer.
I have two upcoming releases on Beatport this November: a remix of TEELCO’s Xenon on Movement Recordings, and an experimental collaboration, New Dimension (including a Dmitry Molosh remix), with rising artist Alex Stalwart, set to release on UV Noir.
Additionally, I’ve just begun a new collaboration with two incredible artists, Greta Meier and Alisha. This promises to be something really special, so stay tuned!
My next big event is in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where Dmitry Molosh and I will play a back-to-back set at Utopia on New Year’s Eve. I couldn’t be happier to share the stage with one of my favorite producers—and a close friend—especially in front of one of the most appreciative audiences in the world, right there in Sri Lanka!
In this podcast, I’ve curated a mix of progressive house music that I love, showcasing its rich diversity in a single set. I also included some of my latest and upcoming releases on labels like Movement, Strange Town, and Music de Lune. Hope you enjoy it!
