Ricky Ryan’s sound is distinguished by a broad variety of musical styles, from beautiful warm House and deep Techno to driving dance floor anthems, always guiding the listener through a spiritual soundscape by his silky smooth mixing and impeccable programming.
Ricky toured worldwide, including gigs at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, The BPM Festival in Mexico, ADE in Amsterdam, Creamfields in his hometown Buenos Aires, and an honourable residency at the spectacular Warung Beach Club in Brazil.
His success is exemplified by featuring on John Digweed‘s Transitions show, and on Proton Radio setting a record of simultaneous listeners, with rave reviews from Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells, and Desyn Masiello.
Ricky Ryan is just as well respected for his remixes and productions while establishing Mauricio Viana’s Electronic Groove Records, supported by Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, and many more.

What music did you listen to as a child?
My first memories as a child are with Music, travelling by car with my lovely family and listening to 80s gems that I still listen to today. Thank God, Music has been the perfect soundtrack for my childhood, and later as a teenager I’ve launched my serious journey into Rock with the Ramones. Since then I’ve compiled the best of every genre, from Iron Maiden to Radiohead, and Pink Floyd, and also played in several bands until I fell in love with House Music.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
Around the late 90’s, I was hanging out with my friends at KU Pinamar, a beautiful beachclub in Argentina, when we’ve heard the soulful sounds of Trance Music. Since then, I’ve digged deep and found the Global Underground Series with Sasha – Ibiza sounding the most romantic and inspiring, a wonderful balance between dark and bright vibes, including Sander Kleinenberg‘s My Lexicon anthem. Soon later, I was “living the dream” in Los Angeles, California, when I’ve found a couple of turntables in a friend’s closet, and by the grace of God I already knew how to DJ from the womb.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
Could mention lots but would highlight classic artists such as David Gilmour, John Frusciante, Bob Marley, and John Lennon. Early days of Sasha and John Digweed, and lately inspired by Guy J, and GMJ & Matter, among many others. I’m all about Progressive sounds since always, enjoying all kinds of quality Music. Working daily in my humble home studio with the most basic set up, feeding my soul with the Word of God, my wellspring of everlasting inspiration.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
Currently working on manifold projects to release on our own Electronic Groove Records, and a rework of Paul & Anunnakis Ancient Moon on Selador Recordings. I took a break from nightlife and the scene to fully focus in the studio. Living a very healthy life now, waking up early, and loving the process like never before. Sharing Music online has become my biggest passion, specially sharing Mixtapes (podcasts). For Balance Selections I’m sharing something extra special, that is, deeper than usual, building the whole Mix around this Marway gem that shines by the end of the journey. Truly honoured. Hope you dig it !
