‘The Owl and the Butterfly’ is the title of the 7th album from Robert Babicz and is slated for a release date in June on Marc Romboy’s Systematic Recordings. This new release looks set to be Babicz at his introspective best; he preceded each studio session with a 2 hour walk in the surrounding forests of his home in Cologne in an effort to connect deeper with nature: a process which helped him give birth to new ideas and helped him to ‘bring him back to himself‘.
‘The Owl and the Butterfly‘ promises to ‘enliven the senses’ with 20 tracks that will showcase the artist’s unique ‘Babiczstyle‘ of house, techno and electronica, and features various musical vignette’s -called Dream Sequences– that are scattered throughout the tracklisting. Babicz will also explore new territories in the form of 2 vocal tracks: Russian singer Ange collaborates with Babicz on the erotic and slow beats of ‘Crazy‘, while Karen Vogt sings on the album closer, ‘Flow‘.
Also found on this release will be an updated version of Babicz’s popular 2005 track, ‘Sonntag‘, which is also the first single taken from the album. The single is out now on Systematic Recordings with remixes from Rodriguez Jr., KiNK and Pezzner.
