Cocoon head honcho, Sven Väth, is set to compile the next edition of the ‘Coming Home’ series on German label Stereo Deluxe.
Since 2007 the ‘Coming Home’ compilation series has given a platform to DJs of various calibres to explore the music that shapes their life outside the DJ booth. Väth joins an illustrious list of past compilers that includes DJ Hell, Jazzanova and Nightmares on Wax.
Väth is still somewhat of a vinyl purist, and with the years of crate digging and globe trotting he has had many experiences to draw musical inspiration from. For ‘Coming Home’ Väth delivers a diverse selection of 14 tracks inspired by the music when he is at home in London. And as Väth himself explains “I actually intended to present only my current fave songs — without any particular dramaturgy. But even so, there’s a musical arc of suspense to what came together in the end”.
