Thankyou City are one of Australia’s most in demand live acts. Brothers, Brent and Scott Mirams have been playing all over Australia since its inception almost a decade ago. The boys have performed at all of their hometown’s biggest clubs and festivals with highlights including Rainbow Serpent Festival, Strawberry fields, Earth Frequency Festival, Subsonic Music, Babylon Festival, and Let Them Eat Cake.
Internationally, The TYC boys have generated a strong following with stunning performances at some of Europe’s most respected underground clubs such as Berlin’s Sisyphus, Ritter Butzke and Golden Gate, they have also spread their sound from Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague, France, Spain and Thailand all the way to UK’s glade festival and USA’s symbiosis festival.
The Thankyou City sound is a unique characteristic blend of deep house, progressive and techno. Infusing organic natural sounds, warm orchestras, emotive pads and rich electronic melodies alongside thick bass-lines and complex percussion. The brothers have developed an impressive trademark sound that embraces a richly melodic, genre-blurring approach to creating their sophisticated musical creations. They are also very diverse, creating and performing a variety of music from hip-hop, funk and ambient to cinematic soundscapes alongside their usual peak time festival sets.
Recently, they have released on highly acclaimed LA based label Sol Selectas with their “Analogue Odyssey” EP reaching number #6 on the overall Beatport charts in 2018 with wonderful remixes from Audiofly and LA’s Jon Charnis. Other successful releases feature on industry heavyweight Balance Music, KNM, Sprout Music and regular releases on Australia’s favourite local label Open Records. Furthermore, their own original scores have been featured on a variety of television episodes including SBS’s Battle of the Vines series and the ABC’s backroads program.
The brothers also received the “People’s Choice” selection for producers of the year at the Australian Independent Music Awards held in Sydney and are now busy hosting a monthly producers workshop for established and up and coming artists in their Melbourne hometown when they are not busy travelling and performing around the country.
With a lot more on the horizon the Thankyou City project is still full steam ahead and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
