What music did you listen to as a child?
I had a Punk & Hardcore adolescence, I was fascinated with that kind of music, I remember the day I heard Ramones and Sex Pistols for the first time, everything changed. I did not have any musical influence in my house, so I discovered the music that I liked on my own.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
I really liked the Manchester sound of the 90s and when I discovered that some of those bands used synthesizers and drum machines to make their music, I started researching and listening to more purely electronic bands like Ladytron, Kraftwerk, Chemical Brothers and Underworld to name a few. Then I entered the world of Djing and Minimal Techno was the first style that I liked, some time later the melodies and harmonies of Deep and Progressive House came to me.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
I saw Troy Pierce at Bahrein a club in Buenos Aires in the early 2000’s.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
I like a lot of producers from different styles like Sasha, Dominik Eulberg, Stelios Vassiloudis, Guy Gerber, Patrice Baumel, Trikk.
What was the last album that you downloaded/bought?
Album ‘Behind Us‘ from Damon Jee and Darlyn Vlys, I love Damon Jee style.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
I have a very simple studio set up a Mac mini, Focal monitors, Focusrite sound card, Ableton push, Korg EA1 synth, Access Virus TI Snow synth. I really like working with Ableton native tools for my every day work .
For my DJ sets I use 2 or 3 CDJ Nexus 2 or CDJ 3000 and a Pionneer mixer 900 Nexus 2
What releases do you have on the horizon?
A remix for Mariano Mellino and several collabs with Ezequiel Arias for next year
Where can we hear you perform?
I have gigs in Bs As and Argentina on the way for the rest of the year
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
I made it with my laptop using Ableton Live. I made a track named Folgar Dive specially for that set the will available be for free downloading in the DJ MAGLA Soundcloud. I’ve been working on this set for a few months now because I wanted to include music from many artists and friends from Argentina.
