Criminal lawyer by day, DJ/producer by night, Pau Grossi is an Argentine artist whose sets move between deep house, progressive and techno without settling too neatly into any one lane.
Groove is the constant, underlined by patient shifts in energy that shape her approach. Now increasingly focused on production, she is translating that same sensibility into her own music, qualities also evident in recent appearances with The Soundgarden and La Biblioteca.
On this Balance Selections, the rising artist taps into a rich vein of entrancing prog. Featuring tracks from Kebin van Reeken, Ewan Rill and Agustin Pietrocola plus more, it’s a sharp one hour mix that’s not afraid to go deep.

Music has surrounded me for as long as I can remember. I loved -and still love- The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, and Soda Stereo, one of Argentina’s greatest rock bands, fronted by the undisputed icon Gustavo Cerati.
My cousins are musicians and have an alternative indie-rock band, so whenever I went over to their house as a kid, I was exposed to a whole other world of music: Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd… and that’s how the dark side of the moon found its way into my life, haha.
I’ve always been drawn to older music. Back when my friends were listening to the typical songs from teen TV shows, I was digging through forgotten CDs scattered around my house and going back decades.
Whenever I stumbled across one, I’d put it on the stereo. One minute I’d be listening to a Bananas in Pyjamas CD or cassette, and the next it would be Donna Summer or Depeche Mode.
I have to admit, my mom had great taste -or at least-, she knew which records to buy back then, haha. Little by little, synths started taking center stage in my life.
My first electronic music party was in February 2018 at MUTE in Mar del Plata, the beach city in Buenos Aires where I live. Luciano was playing, which wasn’t a bad first experience at all. From that moment on, I became a 24/7 raver. Behind every good DJ, there’s always a good raver.
I don’t want to overdo the patriotism, but Hernán Cattaneo is a huge inspiration to me. I first started going to see him at his legendary Córdoba shows -Forja 2018 was my first- and I haven’t stopped since.
Over the years, I’ve realized that despite being known as “El Maestro” or “the Messi of electronic music,” he is, above all, the most genuinely DJ human being, as I like to call him.
Hands down, he is the greatest selector and mixer. I never get tired of hearing him play, watching him perform, or learning from him whenever I attend one of his events or listen to an interview.
Time is the most valuable thing we have, and Hernán gives so much of his to his people: his fans, his peers, family, friends, newcomers and veterans alike.
He listens to around 500 tracks a day and even gives feedback to artists who are just starting out, like me. He makes us incredibly proud!
2) John Digweed is right at the top of my list too. What he does honestly feels like it comes from another galaxy. The quality of the music released on Bedrock always sounds like the future, from the oldest records to the newest ones, and even the ones coming out tomorrow, haha. He’s truly one of a kind. I hope my own productions can reach that kind of sound someday.
3) Nick Warren—the most Argentine Englishman, or maybe the other way around!- What The Soundgarden has done for Argentine artists is something no label from my country has managed to achieve. We’ll always be grateful for the love Nick has shown us. Thanks to him and Petra, so many friends and fellow artists have been able to grow and finally make the leap they were hoping for in their careers. Hernán may be the Messi of DJs, but Nick is the Lionel Scaloni of Argentine producers. That’s also why his sets are always full of unreleased gems that only he has on his USBs, making every show feel so special, emotional, and completely unique.
4) Dixon. Innervisions is one of my favorite labels right now: groove, percussion, darkness, emotion, and, above all, originality. It’s always forward-thinking. Dixon has such a strong artistic identity, with so many different emotional shades, and he communicates every one of them perfectly.
5) Nina Kraviz: I really admire the way she mixes—it’s pure finesse and an incredible ear. She’s insanely talented, and no one has her presence in the booth. She was also a dentist before becoming a DJ, which I relate to so much. In my case, I’m a criminal lawyer by day and a DJ/producer by night, haha.
6) Bands: Depeche Mode, Queen, Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk are my all-time favorites!!!
John Digweed – Live At Twilo! I bought it because the tracks have such an old-school sound, but the set itself is approached in a more new-school way. To me, it’s an incredible mix. Even better, it features tracks by several friends and fellow artists, which made me want it even more.

I use Ableton Live for production, Rekordbox to organize the music folders on my USBs, and Traktor whenever I’m playing with MIDI controllers like the K2 or Launchontrol, so I can work across four channels at once.
For DJing, I prefer playing on 4 CDJs—the model doesn’t really matter—because I love layering several tracks at once. In progressive music, that can make the mixes richer and more complex, creating a unique sound through the blend of multiple elements. In more rigid genres, you might not get the same subtle, elegant result that progressive allows.
As for vinyl, I’m still learning… and wow, it’s hard! Haha. But I’m getting there. I’m fascinated by the analog world. At this point, I can mix a vinyl record with a digital track, and the goal is to slowly work my way toward becoming even 1% of Jeff Mills! 😀
When it comes to synths, I really love the Prophet 12. But I learned so much on the Yamaha CS-5 my cousin used to lend me, so that one will always be among my favorites. Long live the ’80s!!!

Lately, I’ve been focusing much more on music production -my double life as a lawyer and DJ didn’t always leave enough room for it.
I’ve now decided to play fewer gigs, roughly one a month, which gives me more time to produce, create, keep practicing piano and guitar—both of which I’ve played since I was a kid—and collaborate with incredibly talented artists.
One of them is FFINA, and we’ll be sharing what we’ve created together very soon! There’s something really special about producing music with friends, so I’m really happy to be having this experience.
I’ve also been working on several projects with my friend Juan Fernández, an incredibly talented argentinian musician and a true standout in the progressive house scene, known for his signature chords, vocals, and unique musicality.
My team and I recently launched the « Time Capsule project ». On my YouTube and SoundCloud channels, you’ll find live sets I recorded but never released—from the past, the present, and everything still to come!
I also run an events brand called KRPNCH (pronounced car- PEEEN-cho -capybaya in spanish hahaha). On Sunday, September 6, 2026, we’ll be hosting an event at the Anfiteatro del Rosedal, where I’ll share the booth with LAS OLAS, an Argentine symphonic-electronic band led by Nicolás Bruschi and Christian Silvosa.
It’s going to be a one-of-a-kind experience!
I recorded it in my home studio with my babiessss—the CDJs. I came home from my day job as a criminal lawyer and started digging for music.
I went through somewhere between 30 and 60 tracks before narrowing it down to the ones you’re hearing today, including a few of my own IDs.
I have to admit, I was a little late submitting the mix because I stayed up until the very last minute working on one of the IDs featured in the set.
Balance inspired me so much that I might just have to name the track “Balance” someday 😉
