When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
I think that at my early 15 years old (illegally yeah off course) I discovered for the first time a proper rave and that really captured me.
Not just only for the music, but also for the ravy warehouse vibes and the crowd. Collective synergy and people vibing through the beat tempo sharing altogether.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
A bit left from the club music, I really love the last album from Carla dal Forno ‘Come Around’ LP. Introspective and intimate yet relaxed vibes with that kind of magic. Recently released Fever Ray album ‘Radical Romantics’ is so intense, inspiring and cross-genre fusion with their unique touch and voice. A disc that you gonna listen many many times and continue discovering and understanding things from a different perspective.
What was the last album that you downloaded/bought?
Leifur James – Angel In Disguise
Incredible album, such an experience. Ideal for road trip. Recommend by the artist collective ‘Definiendo’.
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
Regarding DJ sets, Pioneer 4x CDJ 3000 + V10 LF. Convenience for mixing and fully functional mixer. From the studio side I recently added a dream synth for me, the OB-6. So expect more poly lush(ing) sounds.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
A special 4 track EP coming up on microCastle, and some remixes on the way. Keep an eye out!
Where can we hear you perform?
I will stay some months in Europe based in Barcelona for the season, and we start with our friends from Metrica in Malaga, Spain. Hope to see you around somewhere 🙂
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
I really enjoyed the process of recording this deep mix. As you might expect, every piece is meticulous there for a reason.
My Recommendations
The top track in my DJ wallet currently is:
Space Dimension Controller – Life Window
If I could recommend only one of my tracks for you to listen to it would be:
Ditian – Forgotten April
This spirit will always be a very special one for me. I expose my most sensitive and raw at the same time. It was released on Innervisions and a main piece of the Transmoderna season.
If I could recommend only one track for you to listen to it would be:
Schneider TM & Kptmichigan, The Light 3000
Cover from one of my fav songs from The Smiths. It’s ridiculous how touching this interpretation is for me. The vocoder voice and calm vibe cheers me up even during those days.
The last movie I watched that I really liked:
Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola. From time to time I got the necessity to be back to one of my all times favourite movies that makes me feel touching, melancholic, moody, nostalgic and gets there deep like the first time. The search for a meaningful connection in a chaotic and superficial world. It’s like a state of mind for me. Soundtrack is masterpiece.
My favourite TV show:
Mr. Robot
