What music did you listen to as a child?
My Father was not a musician. But he loved many kind of music (Jazz, Classical etc.) and had many records. I’ve listened to them on his sound system.
When was the first time that you realised that you liked electronic music?
When I was primary, I watched Yellow Magic Orchestra on TV and shocked. Some years after, I started to compose and played some instruments (Synth, Guitar, Bass, Drum) and Vocal in my band. The sounds were like a New Wave and Shoegaze.
When was the first time you saw a DJ in a club?
When I study at art school, my friend brought me to a club in Shibuya/Tokyo. I don’t remember the name, but the DJ played Techno. The sounds were very interesting for me. I thought I can make it with my instruments because I have a Synthesizer and Drum Machine for making demos for my band.
Which producers/artists/acts inspire you?
Francois Kevorkian, Frankie Knuckles, Mike Banks, Robert Frip, Kevin Shields, Robin Guthrie, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, Haruomi Hosono, Brian Eno, and more… I’m inspired from their beautiful and experimental sounds.
What was the last album that you downloaded/bought?
Ryuichi Sakamoto -12
What is your current production and DJ set up like?
In the Studio I use PC, Custom PC, Monitor Yamaha-MS, Headphone Phonon SMB 02, Sequencer/Ableton Live and Cubase, Instruments like Roland-JD800, Ibanez-Fretless Bass, and many VST.
I use Traktor from many years ago. I need so many tracks for DJ’ing because I like playing many different styles (Deep House to Techno, Old to Latest). But, for sure I know goodness for playing with vinyl too.
What releases do you have on the horizon?
Yes I have some scheduled releases (Digital and Vinyl) and collaborations with quality artists 🙂 Sorry, I can’t say about detail. Please check my social media posts in the future.
Where can we hear you perform?
I have a monthly program on Bloop London and Proton Radio. I will play some open air events and clubs in summer, and planning Europe and South America tour.
Tell us more about the podcast you made for Balance?
I played with Laptop and Xone K2 (Midi controller). It’s my usually set up. I mixed my own music Original and remix track. Because It’s the first time playing for Balance. This is like a introduction about me.
