Jose: Rather than drawing inspiration from a single figure, my influences come from individual tracks across a wide range of genres and artists. While I rarely listen to full electronic music albums, especially since becoming a producer, classics from Kraftwerk, The Prodigy, and Aphex Twin have definitely left their mark.
My musical background is deeply rooted in reggae, hip-hop, jazz, classical music, Latin music, and harder genres like hardcore and US Hard House. Artists like Manu Chao, DJ Muggs, Nina Simone, Moodymann, Moby, The Psycho Realm, Mount Kimbie, or Erik Satie are frequently on my playlists
Bob Marley – Catch A Fire. I already had the digital version, but I recently found a vinyl copy, which is a masterpiece.
Jose: I have several releases I’m really excited about for 2025. While I can’t announce everything just yet, my next release will be on Crosstown Rebels.
Friso: As we kick off the year, we have several exciting remixes lined up for release. One of the standout projects is a remix for Nelly Furtado, celebrating her 25th stage anniversary. Additionally, I’m working on a remix for Röyksopp featuring Robyn. This collaboration allows me to explore a more pop-oriented direction, which is a refreshing change of pace.
Jose: I’m currently finalizing plans for upcoming gigs this year and will share details soon. Recently, I’ve held residencies in Kyiv, Ukraine, and Dubai, UAE. Each country has its unique vibe, and the way crowds react differently is part of the magic. As for podcasts, my team and I are working on different projects, focusing on selecting the right opportunities that align with our vision.
Friso: I just came back from South Africa, where we played three shows, and now I’m sitting in a hotel on Ko Pha Ngan, where we’ll be performing at a Full Moon Party tomorrow. After that, we’re heading to India before returning to Europe.
Jose: The podcast for Balance was created using a laptop, as it’s a B2B with Adana Twins, and we couldn’t meet in person this time. We started by individually selecting tracks, combining them into a shared folder for the final selection, and discussing the details over a call. Many of the tracks are our own productions, edits, or unreleased music that will soon be out on labels like TAU and Essential Part.
I honestly can’t remember, I think it was a non-transcendental film I watched on a plane, accompanied by a glass of wine
I’m not really into TV shows, but I recommend exploring books that align with your interests and help you grow.
