The return of Eichenbaum to Balance Music is a well overdue. The Argentinean producer, known for his melodic prowess, has been steadily building an catalog of tracks that ooze style. Following on his standout 2023 EP on Balance Music, a collab with Fede Pals, Eichenbaum drops another gem that’s already turning heads: a progressive anthem backed by remixes from some of the scene’s most promising rising talent.
On Eichenbaum’s original, it’s all class. ‘Transcender’ is a throwback to the golden days of progressive house with a modern twist. At its heart is a hauntingly beautiful melody—melancholic yet uplifting. Surrounding it, lush trance synths shimmer and crackle, carried by an unyielding rhythm section and a brooding morse code bassline that’s as commanding as a mic drop. This is set to be one of the year’s best.
Colombian producer Andrés Moris brings the heat with an energetic reimagining that cranks up the intensity. His bassline rolls like waves on an endless ocean, building anticipation with automated and filtered synths that tease before unveiling that signature melody. The breakdown is a moment of pure magic, with new interpretations weaving into the familiar theme, before the track surges into its climactic finale, complete with soft stabs and ethereal FX.
Next up, Sweden’s EMPHI flips the script with a remix that’s dripping in groove. The tempo feels seductive, anchored by a bassline that swings like it’s got something to prove. Add in a kick drum big enough to swallow the dance floor, and you’ve got a certified weapon. EMPHI’s treatment of the original melody is subtle yet impactful, funneling it through delicate synths that float above the mix. The vintage-inspired breakdown resets the mood, only to explode into action for a second round of groove.
The remix of Fran Garay lets the melody play the role of an enigmatic question, answered by driving drums and a bassline that’s as bold as it is intricate.
