My earliest memories are of watching my father listen to vinyl records by The Beatles, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, and more. He was a true music lover, and he passed that passion on to me—it became a kind of beautiful obsession. Growing up, having the chance to play music with my own hands felt like a privilege, something that’s rare today.
As I got older, I started buying my own vinyl and CDs, collecting everything from Enya and Michael Jackson to Craig David, Public Enemy, Metallica, and Bananarama. As you can see, my taste was wildly eclectic, but I genuinely loved all kinds of music. I absorbed everything I could until I was 14.
In Spain in the nineties, there was a radio show called It’s Your Time, which I believe was one of the pioneers of its kind. It was where I first heard electronic music, and I was instantly amazed. I couldn’t quite understand what drew me to it so intensely—it was all completely new to me.
That curiosity led me to explore further, and I eventually discovered the Love Parade CDs. That was the moment my passion for electronic music truly began.
When I started getting into progressive house, there were several artists who blew my mind and became my biggest inspirations—Matthew Dekay, John Creamer & Stephane K, Guy J, Hernán Cattáneo, Lexicon Avenue, and Chris Micali, just to name a few.
They introduced me to a musical style that, in my opinion, has everything: melody, power, and hypnotic energy.
Nowadays, I’m following artists like Mike Griego, Simos Tagias, Andrés Moris, Sebastián Sellares, and Subandrio, among others!
If we’re talking about music outside of my work environment, the last artist that really caught my attention was Lewis Capaldi. His voice is incredible, and the emotion he conveys is just amazing.
Lately, though, I’ve been really into Tiny Desk. It’s a format I’m enjoying a lot, even with artists I initially thought I wouldn’t like.
As for electronic music, the last album I downloaded was Matter, and I loved it!
I’ve always tried to keep my studio setup as minimalist as possible—fully digital—but lately, I’ve been considering adding an analog synth or two.
Of course, Ableton is my favorite DAW. I think I’ve tried them all over the years, and none come close to Ableton for me. I’m sure Logic and others have their strengths—they’re amazing too—but Ableton is where I feel most comfortable working.
When it comes to my favorite plugins, Diva and Omnisphere are definitely among my must-haves these days.
As for my ideal DJ setup, a Xone 96 would be perfect so I can connect my own FX, and ideally, I’d have four CDJs to work with multiple layers and loops.
I’ve been working on several remixes for this year, and the next one will be released through Purrfection, the label of my good friend Forty Cats. She has an amazing label, so I didn’t hesitate to say yes!
Later in the year, there will be more remixes, but for now, I can’t reveal too much.
As for original releases, there will be several this year, which I’m really excited about. These are labels I’ve been looking forward to working with, and I’m also returning to some that I’ve recently released on. I’d love to share more details, but for now, I have to keep things under wraps.
Of course, I’m still collaborating with my good friend Nila. We’ll continue releasing tracks together—we have a great connection, both in and out of the studio.
There’s also a very special project in the works. It’s still in its early stages, but I’m really excited about it. I don’t think it will be ready until the end of the year or early next year, but as soon as I can announce it, I will. It’s going to be an important milestone in my career.
I have my own podcast called Asteroids, where every month I share tracks that I recommend and include in my sets, along with my latest releases. Sometimes, I even bring in a guest. It’s been going really well, and I really enjoy this format.
Under the same name, I also created Asteroids Club, an initiative to give space to our sound here in Madrid.
Progressive house doesn’t have a very strong circuit in Spain, and we’re working to change that. There are also some upcoming dates that will be confirmed soon!
I recorded the mix on my home setup (3 Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus and a Xone 96) because it was a special occasion for me, and I wanted to create and develop it live.
I used my own tracks, along with some that are currently part of my performances!
One of my top 5 is Amháin – Starseed (Subandrio Remix)—an absolute bomb!!! 🔥
I’m going to recommend a track that still gives me chills to this day. I remember when they offered it to me at the vinyl shop—I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
Over 20 years later, I still enjoy it just as much as the first time I played it and saw the audience’s reaction.
I’m a big fan of psychological horror movies and similar genres. Right now, Smile comes to mind. I thought it was pretty good. There’s a sequel out, but I haven’t seen it yet!
I`m very hooked on Severance, I recommend it to everyone.
A nice villa in ibiza,I have been going since 2003 at least one week a year.’
