An energetic mix from Frenchman Rokazer that’s filled with dynamic progressive house…
We head to Western Europe to spotlight Rokazer, a French producer and DJ who has been quietly crafting main room dance floor music for well over half a decade. It’s synchronous how the word “rock” is embedded in his Rokazer alias: he has a knack for creating rocking propulsive progressive aimed at making people dance. And mentioning main room masters like Eric Prydz and Deadmau5 as creative inspirations make his knack for driving basslines, sparkling percussion, and immersive melodic breakdowns make even more sense.
His discography boasts hard-hitting releases on labels like Mango Alley, Colorize, and Freerange, along with a 10-track full-length album on Golden Wings Music. Though his production output remains steady, Rokazer has taken a step back from live performances since becoming a father. He notes, “People often ask where they can see me in concert. I’d love to perform live in 2025, so if any promoters are listening, I’ll be more available then!”
As his bio states, Rokazer delivers the “nectar of the French progressive house sound to ears worldwide,” and if this mix is any indication, that nectar is addictively sweet. Featuring tracks and remixes from a stellar lineup of progressive house artists including Meeting Molly, Subandrio, Mike Rish, and GMJ & Matter (last seen on Balance with their awesome Helioflow EP), this is an energetic mix designed to elevate any mood.

I grew up listening to disco funk until I was about 12, having been born in the ’80s. During my teenage years, I got into rap and quickly transitioned to electronic music when I discovered vinyl mixing. I played the piano as a child, but I soon gravitated toward DJing, focusing on disco funk and house music. By my twenties, I had moved into music production.
My older brother used to listen to a lot of Ibiza compilations in the early 2000s. I was instantly drawn to electronic music when I heard it for the first time.
Honestly, my first experiences weren’t that impressive. The local DJs where I went clubbing at 18 didn’t leave much of an impact. It was only when I moved to Paris later on that I got to see my idols, like Eric Prydz and Deadmau5 (before he became famous).
I was a huge fan of Eric Prydz (Cirez D) and Sébastien Léger around 2007. I used to buy a lot of vinyl records and play them in clubs in the city where I was studying that very same night.
I use my Prophet 8 a lot with effect pedals and mostly produce at home. I had set up a mastering studio with friends, which was operational from 2018 to 2023. The studio is going to reopen soon, and we’ve got plenty of hardware equipment and synths like the Moog, Prophet, Polysix, TR-909, and more. I can’t wait to get back to producing directly in the studio.
I have some EPs planned for this summer and the start of the school year with the Colorize label, with whom I’ve been working regularly for the past two years. A very recent EP just dropped on Mango Alley, featuring some great remixes. I also have a few collaborations and remixes in the works, but I’m taking things a bit slower this year due to my busy schedule with my kids.
As I mentioned earlier, my schedule is quite packed with fatherhood and my other job, so finding free time is a challenge. People often ask where they can see me in concert. I’d love to perform live in 2025, so if any promoters are listening, I’ll be more available then!
For this podcast mix, I carefully selected tracks that represent my style and would resonate with Balance’s audience. I aimed for rhythmic, club-friendly tracks to create an energetic vibe.
All the tracks in my mix are my recommendations. I am a fan of all these artists; they are all very talented producers. But here are my top three from the mix:
Saltburn
Eric/ House Of the dragon
Corsica / Calvi on the Rock
