Andrés Moris Showcases Deep Melodic Vision in New Balance Selections Mix…
Raised on Argentina’s electronic underground, Andrés Moris has quietly emerged as one of the scene’s more introspective voices. With a sound that favors depth over immediacy, he has a distinct knack for building atmosphere, something that’s earned him support from respected labels like Meanwhile and Sudbeat.
His remix earlier this year of Eichenbaum’s Transcender, released on Balance Music, showcased his ability to stretch emotion across a track without ever losing control.
On this Balance Selections mix, the rising talent delivers a big mix filled with lush melodic flavours. Featuring Max Graham, Marsh, Scippo, and of course, Moris himself, this is a 10-track delight that moves with the ease of a familiar memory.

When I was little music was always present in my household, every day was a different genre, different languages and styles so I can say my upbringing was quite versatile.
My mother used to play music to me in her belly, music like Moby, Chemical Brothers, Gorillaz, Blue Man Group. Some days were rock, some days were electronic and some days were folk or pop.
I remember the days growing up listening to all these songs wondering how they made that music, so I was interested as a child in production. No one in my family is a musician but luckily they had a wide taste in music.
I remember listening to a track called “Perpetual” by Echomen on my father’s car radio when I was just six years old. At the time, I thought it was a radio station, but it turned out to be a CD my dad had recorded himself.
That CD was my first real introduction to electronic music. It opened my ears to Trance and instantly pulled me in. It featured artists like Echomen, John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Nick Muir, and many more—names that would go on to shape my musical journey.
A few years later, around the age of 12, I discovered Guy J. His sound amazed me and gave me a feeling I couldn’t shake. That’s when I really dove in—researching DJing, music production, and starting to explore the world that had captured me years earlier.
The first time I came into contact with a club was early in my teenage years. Here in my hometown, Hernando, there’s a club called Villa 8.
In its early days, they used to bring in local DJs to play on the dancefloor, and it was known as “Club Nice.” That’s where I first heard a DJ named Jimena Ferreyra, who already had extensive experience behind the decks.
She instantly caught the attention of me and my friends with the genre she was playing. Luckily, it was Progressive House—the same genre I produce and DJ today—so she became a big reference point for me in the beginning.
I loved the vibe and the way people connected through music. Here in Argentina, we’re very passionate about everything, so the crowds always bring a special energy to nights out.
But what really stuck with me was realizing how a DJ can both create and completely change the atmosphere in a club through their music selection. That’s when I started to truly understand what makes a DJ set special—and how to craft a great one.
My favorite musician is Guy J. I first heard him in a club without knowing much about him, but after that night, I became a fan. The way his music makes me feel is out of this world—he has a unique ability to create deep emotions through both his tracks and DJ sets. He’s been my biggest reference and inspiration in everything I do related to electronic music.
However, what inspires me the most is how I feel in the moment—the situations we go through in life, and how those experiences shape us. I believe music is one of the most powerful ways to express who we are and what we’re going through. For me, life itself is the greatest source of inspiration.
I’ve always wanted my music to have a positive impact on the world. So whenever someone listens to one of my tracks, I hope it makes them feel something—happiness, nostalgia, and a sense of hope for what’s still to come.
As always, my idol Guy J—and this time I purchased his EP “Silver Lake / Evo” because I had been waiting for those tracks for a very, very long time. I always make an effort to buy music and support artists, even when I don’t have much money. To me, contributing even a small amount is a way of showing respect for their work.
Most of the music I play is sent to me as promos, but whenever the tracks are officially released, I make sure to buy them. It’s my way of saying thank you and showing appreciation for the art they create.
Right now, my setup is pretty basic—mainly because I moved from my home in Argentina to Italy and had to build a new production space from scratch. Now that I’m back in Argentina, I’m in the process of setting up my studio again.
For monitoring, I use Technics 1205 headphones and a Komplete Audio 8 as my sound card. My main piece of hardware is a Novation Impulse 25, which I use for most of my production. I’ve never really struggled with equipment, because I believe you don’t need much to make good music. That said, my dream is to one day have a collection of synths as I grow on my journey as an artist.
I always wished I could buy at least one synth from the beginning, but coming from a humble background, that just wasn’t possible. When it comes to DJing, I use CDJs in clubs, but I don’t currently have DJ gear in my studio. For special occasions—like recording this Balance mix—I rent a pair of XDJ-1000MK2s and a DJM-900NXS mixer.
Well, I have something very special coming up. I’ve always believed that releasing music independently allows the focus to stay on the music itself, rather than the label it’s released on. With that in mind, I’m putting together a 7-track album that will be released this year on Bandcamp.
I took a break from releasing too much music over the past year so I could dedicate more time and energy to this project. It’s my first album, and I want it to be something truly meaningful. The album is titled “A Tribute To Love” and it’s coming very soon.
Besides that, I’m always working—whether it’s on remixes or teaching—so the creative flow never really stops.
At the moment, I don’t have any gigs planned, as I’ve taken a short break from DJing to focus on my personal life and the album I’m currently creating. That said, I’m always open to playing anywhere in the world. Hopefully, you’ll see me out there again very soon.
For the Balance podcast, I really wanted to do something special. I rented a pair of XDJ-1000s and a DJM-900NXS mixer just for this set—it was important to me that the mix was recorded with professional gear in a proper studio setting. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time, knowing how iconic and respected the Balance Selections series is, so I wanted to give it my absolute best.
Some of the tracks in the mix were custom edits I made myself, and the whole process took about two months to put together. I also included some of my own productions, but reworked them with more detail and personal touches to make them feel unique to this set.
The opening track is called “The Moment”—it’s actually the intro to my upcoming album, A Tribute To Love, set to release in 2025. There are also a few other special pieces in the mix that I’d love to highlight next.
