One hour of progressive textures from Aaron Suiss…
Emerging from Washington D.C. before relocating to the island energy of Koh Phangan, Aaron Suiss has built a career defined as much by emotional connection as dancefloor momentum. Now based in Thailand, the DJ, producer and label figure channels a melodic progressive sound rooted in feeling rather than functionality. That philosophy extends beyond the studio.
Whether overseeing A&R duties for Outta Limits Recordings, championing new talent, or crafting productions that continue to climb the Beatport charts, Suiss approaches music as an act of energy exchange rather than pure entertainment. It’s a mindset that has helped shape his rise while keeping his perspective grounded.
On this Balance Selections, the artist showcase a crips sound that feels seamless. Featuring tracks from Dowden, Stereo Underground, Patrice Bäumel and more, this is a dynamic journey though progressive textures.

As a child I listened to a lot of different music. My mother was into rock, so I would regularly hear artists like Led Zeppelin, U2, Aerosmith and Pink Floyd.
My father was born and raised in Morocco and was French-educated, so I would hear a mix from him of old French pop and Arabic oriental music. I myself was more into hip hop and dub once I hit my teenage years.
Music was a constant in my house. My father had a TEAC reel-to-reel, which I still have today, with thousands of hours of music recorded on it, and he also had turntables that he would play all his oldies on, like Al Green, Frank Sinatra and more.
I was in high school and my friend had a house party in Washington DC. He was a bit more on the edgy side of my friend circle, and we all went to his house where he started DJing for us. He was playing super experimental bass music.
At that time Bassnectar was popular, and I really fell in love with that sound from then. Actually, the first music I started to play was dub and drum and bass, which all came to me after that.
When I was 18 I moved overseas, it was on these travels where I got heavily into the nightlife scene. I started going out to clubs every weekend. I remember the first time I arrived, I went to an old club in named Comfor 13.
There was a crew of DJs (Submob Crew) playing dubstep nights there. I remember when I walked in and saw this guy on stage jamming out and everyone vibing with him, it felt so amazing and I immediately immersed myself in the dancefloor.
I myself am a DJ born on the dance floor. Sometimes when I forget why I’m doing this or get lost in my mind, I can find myself again on the dancefloor, remembering why I got into this in the first place. To make people dance and feel.
My favorite musicians vary, but I would say that Patrice Bäumel is by far my top electronic music artist. I really love what he does, from how he crafts his sets to how he makes his music. For me, he is a big inspiration.
On the more jazz side, I am really inspired by George Benson. He really knows how to capture emotion and make you feel something with his songs.
I am also a huge fan of Pink Floyd. I remember when I first heard their album The Dark Side of the Moon, I listened to the whole thing from start to finish and couldn’t turn it off. If you just lie in bed and listen, you can really get lost in that album.
I am also super inspired by nature. The natural world has a way of showing you how things can organically be so in tune and in sync.
Sometimes I hear sounds and record them to use in my music. Soundscapes, textures, birds singing, and so many other sounds I hear just inspire me.
Also, just being outdoors really gets my mind going in a way that makes me feel like I understand more clearly the type of song I want to make that day or that month.
The last album I downloaded was the Cordoba City Series by Guy J on Global Underground. I read about it on the Electronic Grooves platform.
I really liked this album a lot. For me, Guy J is one of the best storytellers. I can really dive deep into his sound and feel like I’m going on a journey.
Currently, I have two Adam Audio A77H monitors with a Steinberg UR28M soundcard and a Mac Studio running Cubase 14. I have the OXI Instruments Sequencer as well as the OXI Instruments E16.
I really love these tools by OXI Instruments, they really enhance my work. For synthesizers, I have the Novation Peak. I don’t use it much, but I do like its sound, so when I do use it, it’s fun.
As for DJing, I’m a USB guy. I used to use a laptop and controller, but I find it easier and more comfortable to use USBs now. I think I’ll stick with that for a while.
I have quite a lot of cool stuff coming up. I am working on two new EPs, one of which has already been signed to Movement Recordings, and another that I will send out in the coming weeks to find a home.
I also have a few singles I’m working on. One will be released on my own label Echoes Of Time in June 2026, including a remix by James Harcourt, and another single in collaboration with UBBAH that should be out early 2027.
I also have two more really nice collaborations with Zac and Blancah, both of which will be done and ready to go in the coming months. Lots of cool upcoming stuff that I’m excited to share with the world.
For the next few months I am going to stay around Asia, mainly Thailand. I have full bookings here and it feels good to stay in one place for a bit. I will go to India around June and maybe do a Euro tour for the summer, but nothing is confirmed yet.
This podcast represents a mix of music that I really like at the moment. I didn’t want to make a mix with the majority of my own productions, I felt it was nicer to showcase the sound that I like to play as well.
There are a few standout tracks for me. One that I’ve been playing for years and that always makes me feel good is Something Wrong (Mauro Aguirre Remix) by Rick Pier O’Neil, and also one of my new tracks from the EP that is signed with Movement Recordings.
